Apply for Bloomington Convention Center Expansion One Percent for the Arts Project Stage One Application program

The Monroe County Capital Improvement Board (CIB) seeks an artist or artistic team to create a signature artwork as part of the 60,000 square foot expansion of the Bloomington Convention Center.
 

Professional local, national, and international artists and artist groups are invited to submit their qualifications as part of a two-stage proposal process to create an unique, site-specific artwork of any media for the Convention Center expansion that celebrates the vibrancy, diversity, resilience, creativity, rich history, and many other strengths of Bloomington, Indiana.
 

Project budget: $400,000

How to apply

  1. Professional Resume or Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum) (required)

    Outline your experience as an artist. In case of a group application, please include resumes for each member of your team. As an abbreviated resume or curriculum vitae, this should be no more than 2 pages.

  2. Please provide at least one and up to three examples of your previous work on public art installation projects.

    • Project Name (required)
    • Project images and/or videos- please upload up to 5 images or videos of the project (required)
    • Project overview- please provide a brief summary of the project including overall concept, dates, and location (no more than 250 words) (required)
    • What role did you play in the project? (no more than 250 words) (required)
    • What was the budget for the project, and was it completed within budget? (no more than 250 words) (required)
    • Did you collaborate with any stakeholders in the project’s final concept/design? If yes, please describe this process (no more than 250 words) (required)
    • Was there a community engagement component? If yes, please describe this process (no more than 250 words) (required)
