Apply for Bloomington Energy Works program
Are you a commercial building owner, manufacturer, nonprofit, academic institution, local business, or developer interested in lowering your energy bills and/or improving the energy efficiency of your building in Bloomington, Indiana?
Bloomington Energy Works is a community-powered initiative helping residents, developers, and local businesses make practical energy choices that improve comfort, reduce costs, and strengthen Bloomington’s climate goals.
Each application received for the free technical assistance program will be reviewed and approved by city staff for either one or all of the following activities depending on the applicant’s project needs, building size, building energy usage, etc.:
- Energy assessment of 12 months of utility data
- Onsite building energy audit
- A written proposal listing recommended energy conservation measures such as solar photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems, HVAC optimization, LED lighting upgrades, etc.
- Assistance in creating a basic financial model for the proposed project including return on investment calculations and consideration for any available financial incentives that include applicable tax credits or rebates available through local, state, and federal governments and local utilities
